The Problems
“Did you know Indonesia is the second largest producer of plastic waste in the world?”

According to a report published by the European Commission, it can be seen from the graph provided above that Indonesia produces around 3.2 million tons of waste per year, ranking it second in the world. The magnitude of this figure is not commensurate with the level of recycling management. Recycling management only reaches around 8% of the total waste produced, while around 69% of the waste is still landfilled. This is the main problem facing us.
The Goals
Based on the problem formulation above, the following are the objectives of this project, including:
Meticulous Tracking: The development of sophisticated tracking systems can help in monitoring the footprint of plastic from its source to the landfill. In this way, we can clearly understand the origins of plastic waste and how it has the potential to affect the environment.
Integrated Management: A coordinated approach to plastic waste management is important to optimize the process. This involves collaboration between the government, industry, and society to manage plastic waste efficiently, from collection to recycling.
Increased User Awareness: Eco-friendly and easy-to-use products can increase user awareness about the importance of plastic waste management. By providing practical solutions and focusing on education, users can more easily actively participate in preserving the environment on a daily basis.

Conclusion
In the process of working on this project, it can be concluded that:
In Indonesia it is still difficult to find waste banks, so waste just piles up without adequate management. Therefore, the Mungut application presents features that make it easier for users to find the nearest waste bank, pick up waste, as well as a reward feature where users can exchange coins for available products.
This not only facilitates the recycling process for the general public, but also contributes positively to producing high-value recycled products. Thus, Mungut is an effective solution in maintaining environmental sustainability.
